Message | All a Mayor does is chair the local council, there is no need for the expense, to say nothing of bureaucracy, that having separate elections for the post. Local councils can work it out themselves, either the coucillors elect a mayor, or the councillor with the highest percentage vote is automatically appointed. There really is no need for direct elections to the position. |

Message | Local elections of municipal council are usually being held together with mayorial elections. There is no need for any extra administration, and we should not reduce the voter's right to express their will about who would manage their local affairs. |

Message | Democracy is key to everything in Hutori. And there is little extra expense in another election, only in campaigns. |
Date | 23:04:46, January 27, 2006 CET | From | Libertarian Party | To | Debating the Reduction in Local Government |
Message | Pointless elections are a fraud against the people as well as a waste of money! Mayors do not DO anything that is not already done by the councils! If they do not do anything extra why have them? |
