MessageMr. Speaker,

I am all for reigning in spending when needed. But the previous budget already left us with over 2 billion in excess funding and was widely supported by the parties. This budget and tax reduction is going to hurt The Empire. This budget still represents a nearly 12 billion dollar reduction, or a cut of nearly 14%. This is after the proposed defense budget cuts were removed (pure political theater I suspect). While I have been told that this is a move to put money back into the pockets of the citizens, what happens when the burdens that the national budget no longer supports are shifted to the local level? Do you not think the local governments will raise taxes?
