MessageMr. Speaker

I thank the lady opposite for the opportunity to clarify the bill at hand.

First of all, we must remind the people that the right to strike has not been removed at all except in industries that are deemed critical to our daily needs. We had experience in the past where these unions tried to hostage the country and put our lives at stake, and so this bill will ensure that such hostility will not happen again.

Secondly, collective bargaining agreements are needed to equalize power. However, as we have seen, the balance of power is not balanced anymore as some trade unions already choke both the public and private industries and leave us hanging. This should not happen! Instead, we urge these workers to settle these disputes through mediation and arbitration with the help of the government. This ensures that the specific needs of the workers are met since the people always heard at collective bargaining agreements are the ones at the top.

Lastly, we think it is morally correct for companies to fire anyone who participates in a strike as it decreases the productivity of the company and the State. Again, we go back to the hostility and drawbacks that these demonstrations create.

We are not curtailing any right here as we respect all the workers in this nation. However, we believe that the right to air their grievances needs to take place in a proper venue that does not harm our great nation.

I yield.

"I disagree heavily, and until the Labour reform is voted down the Unions will continue to strike, and if the laws are not changed a DWC will be founded on the labour that the Lords of Labour lost. I say! To freedom! As well you people should really learn what a free MARKET is."

MessageMr. Speaker, considering that there is a motion of confidence on the chamber right now, laid down by the IDP themselves, will the PM now resign or hold a new election?

I yield.

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election.
