Bill: Call for early elections, December 4056
Details
Submitted by[?]: Alliance of Social Democrats
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.
Voting deadline: August 4057
Description[?]:
We, the Alliance of Social Democrats, call for early elections as soon as we can reach a consensus. This is based on the following factors: 1. Under the constitution, elections are too infrequent. Instead of amending the constitution to remedy this (requiring two thirds to vote in favor), we propose that early elections be held in 4057 (only requiring the support of a simple majority). 2. The Luthori Democratic Movement Party is not a new party, in the sense that it has a voting record and visible stances on political issues. In the interest of fairness, the LDMP should be allowed to stand in elections at the earliest date so that it may have a voice in the Imperial Diet. |
Proposals
Article 1

Message | Mr. Speaker, What does the constitution state about elections? Should the constitution have a clear precedent, we should follow it, unless one of the ruling parties were to a master of how should i saw, "twisting the law" . I yield |

Message | Mr. Speaker, There is a legitimate argument to be made for letting the constitution dictate our actions in this matter. However, it's my understanding that, as a matter of standard procedure, whenever a party returns to the political scene elections are called. I yield. Message | Mr Speaker, Because a party decide to come back it is not ground for a new election. The only reason the Social democrats and communists want this is because they do not value the fact that democracy took it's course. They failed in their vote of non confidence. So this is utter nonesense Anders Ygeman |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Once again, the Conservative Right demonstrates its disregard for decency in politics. The LDMP is owed an election, and the Conservative Right is more interested in keeping power than political fairness. Should this bill fail, I look forward to the next scheduled election. I yield. Theobald Cordell |

Message | Mr. Speaker, How the hell is a term of 48 months too infrequent? This is a standard term for most countries. I think I speak for the entire governing coalition when I say please stop with this obstruction to democracy. The social democrats have proven to be nothing more than a constant nuisance for this current government. We are dealing with important issues like the current threats from the LPU affiliated unions to strike, and the ongoing crisis in Arania. Now is not the time for elections. I yield. The Rt Hon. Peter Brown Deputy Prime Minister |
