Description[?]:

----------------------------------------FINDINGS OF THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE REVIEW----------------------------------------------
December 1, 4057

These findings are released in conclusion of a Ministry of Justice Investigation over the constitutionality of monarchy, and in response to a complaint before the National Assembly's chamber, claiming a certain act of legislation is unconstitutional.

This investigation was conducted from August 13th 4057 to November 25th 4057, with investigation being led by Cunegónde Dalrymple, Minister of Justice, with assistants from both opposition and government legal counsels, as well as other Ministry of Justice officials.

The findings are not binding, but are strong and grave factual recommendations to the legislature. All of these findings must be appealed by amendment to be subjected to change.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COMPLAINT 1: this complaint has been filed in response to the Progressive Royalist Party's objection to a bill proposing a national civilian service and national full time professional military service. As is the Ministry's practice, a constitutional investigation has been launched in response to that grievance.

The constitutional review found no reference to the military in our constitution, and no reference banning or forbidding a civilian service or full time military. Consequently, the justice ministry recommends a conclusion that the Act proposed (Citizen Service and Professional Military Act 4056) is considered completely in keeping with the constitution.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COMPLAINT 2: This complaint has been filed by the Ministry of Justice for constitutional investigation, with the support of the National Assembly. As is the Ministry's practice, a constitutional investigation has been launched in response to that grievance. This grievance regards the continued appeals for a monarchy in Alduria.

The constitutional review found the following...
•Article 1.2b: "(2b) The République de Aldurie shall be structured as a parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarch with a unicameral legislature."
•Article 5.2: "The Président (President) shall be elected for a term of office of 48 months in accordance with the procedure set out in this Article and subject to the provisions of the sections 1 and 3 of Article 13."
•Article 5.2b: "The monarchy of the République de Aldurie is hereditary through direct, natural and legitimate descent from the Président (President), by order of primogeniture"

In conclusion, the review of Complaint 2 determines that constitutional monarchy is constitutional, and provided for under the current constitution. We have also found, that the constitution has faulty language, which is in self contradiction. While it does have language stating that the President is an elected head of state, serving a term of 48 months, 5.2b contradicts that statute, determining that there is a primogenitural system of monarchy and succession under which the head of state is an inherited office.

In response to these findings, the Ministry of Justice recommends constitutional amendment. We are currently not in line with constitutional law

MessageThank you for your investigation, minister. Your efforts are always welcomed and appreciated. My party was simply concerned that the constitution was being broken under current law; if the assembly wishes to amend the constitution, we must put it to a vote.

Yes. This is the course of action the ministry strongly suggests taking.
