Bill: The Police Localization Act of 2176

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2178

The DP proposes that we need national or local police departments, but not both. Given our proven bias toward localization, we suggest that police activities be governed and paid for in this manner. |

Message | The national Police force is required to deal with crimes affecting the entire nation, drugs and people traficing, smuggling, terrorism. The national force is needed for national level crimes, the local force is needed for local level crimes. Imagine the National forces as the FBI or equivilant of Mordusia whereas local forces are just your standard uniformed coppers. |

Message | We would argue that all crimes are so-called "local level" crimes. With properly equipped and trained local police forces, these forces should have no issues dealing with all sorts of crimes. The reason we proposed this is that we believe there is less chance of corruption if the police power structure is closer to the people. As far as funding is concerned, we believe the funding levels would be the same as they are in the current, nationally funded system. We do not foresee and funding reduction or increase. |

Message | a national police force can be close to the people, just across the entire nation and not just in one region. |

Message | It's not the actual police for we want closer to the people, it's the people who regulate it we want closer to the people. |

Message | I agree. Local police have more information about situation in region. And bureucratic machine is less expensive. |
