Message | Education must be exclusively provided by the State. First, such education helps to define our national character and to ensure the continuance of our culture and the cohesion of our state. Second, the privatization of education produces a culture in which education becomes seen as a commodity to be purchased, rather than an entitlement of all qualified persons allowing them to fully participate as informed individuals in their own governance. Will we oppose this bill and, if it is passed, seek to repeal it. |

Message | Les Jaunes are uncomfortable supporting legislation which is not explicitly restricted to religious schools. As the honorable representative from les Sans-Culottes suggests, the current wording of this bill introduces the possibility of private educational institutions being established in competition with the state educational system. We request that proposed legislation be redrafted to reflect these concerns through use of "The governments stance on religious schools" proposal. |
