Details

Submitted by[?]: Former Nationmaster of Rutania

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 4072

Description[?]:

"Good Evening, tonight my party experienced the third disappointing election result although this one was the most disappointing. Unfortunately one thing has remained constant in these elections, my leadership. I had hoped to stay on for longer but I no longer believe I can deliver the conservative majority government this country needs. I believe the voters and my own party have lost confidence in me. And for that reason with a heavy heart I officially announce that I will be resigning as Leader of the Conservative party and its PM candidate. I wish my successor the best of luck and I truly hope that he can bring this party into power in 4075. Thank you to all my colleagues who have helped so greatly throughout my time as leader. I wish them the upmost success in the future. Thank You for the last time."
David Reeves
Former Leader of the Conservative Party

"A leadership election will be held very shortly and we will announce the winner as soon as we can. I would like to pay tribute to the outgoing Leader David Reeves, whilst he failed to secure a majority he did introduce amazing policy and passed numerous reforms. We have been included in two coalitions under his leadership and have made, some formidable allies in other parties. I hope that he will not leave top tier politics and may return to the front bench in the future as either a Presidential Candidate, my successor as chairman, or even a minister. Until a new leader emerges William Brown will act as leader. More announcements will follow shortly. Thank you."
Philip Henderson
Chairman of the Conservative Party

RP:2 DAYS LATER

“Welcome everyone, today a leadership election was held and the Conservative Party officially has a new leader. The election will work the same as last time, in each round the lowest scoring candidate will be knocked out until only one remains. Before I begin, a last minute announcement confirmed that William John Brown has officially resigned form government and will not seek to be a ministerial candidate at any point in the future. He will be missed. For now though I will announce the results:

Round One:
Mr Daniel Holmes, currently Presidential Candidate- 29% (Withdraws, backs Philp Duncan)
Mr Philip Duncan, currently Minister for Finance- 28%
Miss Amy Coverley, currently candidate for Science and Technology- 18%
Mrs Elizabeth Wilson, currently Minister of Justice- 19% (Withdraws, backs Philip Duncan)
Mrs Theresa Williams, backbencher- 1% (Eliminated)
Mr Justin Parks, currently candidate for Environment and Tourism- 5%

Round Two:
Mr Philip Duncan- 47%
Miss Amy Coverley- 31% (Withdraws, Backs Philip Duncan)
Mr Justin Parks- 22% (Eliminated, Backs Philip Duncan)

That means that Philip Duncan is officially the new leader of the Conservative Party, I wish him luck and would now like to welcome him to the stage.”
Philip Henderson
Chairman of the Conservative Party

“Good Evening, I would like to thank all those who backed, voted for, or supported me in this election and my time at the Ministry of Finance. Under the leadership of David Reeves this party changed hugely, but know I believe it is time for us to stop changing and get into power. I will deliver majority as soon as I can. I believe an important first step is to show the public that we do actually believe in capitalism rather than what we are currently perceived as believing in. Also I will deliver a referendum on the size of the legislature in our nation as this is something I firmly believe should be changed. I will announce my cabinet shortly but my first announcement is that Miss Amy Coverley will be my deputy leader, and that Mr Daniel Holmes will continue as Presidential Candidate and second depute leader. Thank You”

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically
