Description[?]:
Each citizen of Likatonia has the right to enjoy a life without worry of libelous material circulating about them. Falsehoods are dangerous and lies only generate more lies. Truthful facts are protected from persecution because truth prevails over lies. ARTICLE 1 Falsehoods and defamatory opinion pieces are designed to destroy one's reputation and those fabricate lies are designed with the intent to harm the person's reputation, standing in a community and their mental condition. By providing protection on legal and reasonable grounds, citizens can actively not worry about malicious material circulating about them. However, this doesn't hinder the truth. If the facts printed about that individual are true, then this law doesn't protect the individual. The individual is liable for the truth and must seek to repair the damage that they have done, because facts are stronger than fiction. |

Date | 14:39:18, January 30, 2006 CET | From | AM Radical Libertarian Party | To | Debating the Libel Law Reform Act of October 2177 |
Message | The current law protects against falsehoods - adding defamatory opinions is too restrictive. Opinions are like assholes, everybody has them, some just smell worse than others. |

Random fact: It is the collective responsibility of the players in a nation to ensure all currently binding RP laws are clearly outlined in an OOC reference bill in the "Bills under debate" section of the nation page. Confusion should not be created by displaying only some of the current RP laws or displaying RP laws which are no longer current. |
