Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 4087
Description[?]:
A democracy is created for the people and by the people, naturally, it should represent the people. As time goes on things change as new technologies are being invented and the speed at which the world is growing is faster than ever. We need to show nations that we see these changes and make sure that as people change the government does to. With term lengths of 42 months a group can be in power that the people no longer agree with, or realise doesn't fit the need of the people. In 42 months lots of major things can change, revolutionary speakers can state ideas unheard of before and natural disasters and economic crashes that we never expected can show the possible flaws of the party in power. Shortening the term length to 2 years will have us continue to be one of the freest and democratic nations in the world and make sure that we are a country created for the people, by the people, and represents the people. |
