Bill: Prostitution Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: Delete This Party!!!
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2058
Description[?]:
As long as there are dirty perverts and loose women who want to earn easy money there will be prostitutes! Therefore, it only makes sense to allow it? Why shouldnt someone have the right to sell their body for sex, or to pay someone for sex? Making it illegal drives it underground and makes abuse more common, puts the prostitutes at the mercy of pimps and makes it hard for the government to regulate the industry. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The right for a person to prostitute himself or herself.
Old value:: Prostitution is illegal.
Current: Prostitution is legal and a recognized profession.
Proposed: Prostitution is legal and a recognized profession.

Message | We are strongly opposed to this bill which will destroy the progress made for the rights of women in Endralon by reducing their bodies to sexual commodities which can be bought or sold. Contrary to the opinions of the Conservative Party prostitution only exists due to the poverty, discrimination and sexism which are a direct result of capitalism and it will soon cease to exist as Endralon progresses towards socialism. |

Message | The Nihilist Fascist Collegiality begs the Democratic Socialists of Endralon to differ. Prostitution will always exist in some form and is impossible to regulate short of creating a governmental bureau to do just that. The Endralonian Bureau of Prostitution doesn't exactly inspire patriotism, though. |

Message | Prostitution will not exist once we have created a socialist and eventually a communist society were all people can obtain a well paid socially useful job which guarantees them a good standard of living therefore eradicating any reasons women may have to feel the necessity in allowing their bodies to be used as sexual commodities for the gratification of men. With socialism we will also see the destruction of all forms of patriarchy and male domination which are currently present in our society and as these are destroyed so will prostitution which is a direct product of such a society. |

Message | the only type of prostitution that would exist in socialism/communism is where the citizen truly wants to sleep with anyone who asks .... well I think thatd be the exception , but ok we have no problem with that going on. Sadly in capitalism prostitution is all about exploiting the poverty stricken thus we oppose it vehemently. |

Message | We agree with our comrades in the DSE and MLC. Prostitution is a vile form of exploitation and should remain illegal. By the way, as long as there are dirty perverts and women who walk alone on certain streets there will be rape! Therefore, according to the logic of the Conservative Party, rape should be legalized? |

Message | No thats totally different. The woman doesnt provide her consent to sex in your example. So anyway, if your 'perfect communist utopia' gets rid of poverty and the 'reasons' people prostitute themselves why shouldnt it be legal? There is no exploitation because everyone is wealthy, the person just wishes to make more money. And who said all prostitutes are women? |

Message | its just a useful simplification because the extreme vast majority are women. Endralon is not yet a socialist nor a communist system in the true sense as the executive currently has no control oveer the economy , perhaps when we do and when people truly are more uniformly wealthy I will consider your proposal , but truly I think whilst currency exists prostitution will occur as exploitation , and once currency doesnt exist I doubt theyll be much state left to outlaw prostitution anyway. |
