Bill: Privatized Education Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Libertarian Party of Valruzia
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2179
Description[?]:
Liberty is based on the non-agression principle and opposes any form of coercion. A government monopoly on education which enforces its views of things onto unwilling citizens, is, therefore, a violation of liberty. Should we not let our people choose their destiny? Should we lessen the burdensome educational budget for our people? Shouldn't we protect our people's true liberty, not this form of "positive" liberty which masquerades under the guise of freedom when it is truly tyranny. Create a market for the schools, and we shall drive down the costs of private schools, remove federal burdens, and with vouchers to help the disadvantaged, we can allow our people to learn the true facts - not what the government decides to censor. The process of privatization shall begin in more wealthy areas with poorer areas privatizing after (and given more aid obviously) until the system has been integrated into the market, where a standard voucher system shall remain. |
