Message | Oh dear, we have three parties opposed to cutting taxes just before an election. We needed 10 more votes as well! |

Message | While I normally oppose tax cuts, I would like to remind those parties opposing this tax ammendment, that the people who benefit most from this tax cut are the poor. Those who make 750 pounds/year or less: Used to pay 10%, now pay 0%. Those who make more than 750 pounds/year but less than 1001 pounds/year: Used to pay 10%, now pay 30%. Those who make more than 1000 pounds/year: Used to pay 35%, now pay 30%. |

Message | I'd also like us shift more of the tax burden to indirect taxation as this gives an incentive for individual taxpayers to reduce consumption, which has environmental benefits as well as introducing an element of "choice" into taxation (don't buy tobacco products, don't pay the high taxes on them, don't want to pay the high petrol taxes? buy a more efficient car, etc). |

Message | Yes, |

Message | But we still need 10 more votes. Perhaps if the other parties stated their objections we could move forwards, instead of LGP and I preaching to the converted? |
