MessageKirlawa has, uncharacteristically, been left with a budget deficit recently. This is merely to get rid of the deficit.

We would prefer to restore the previous tax schedule, but fear that it'll just get changed back if the power shifts again.

As with many things in Kirlawa, there are REASONS for things which may appear odd to an outsider at first glance.
Such as, here, the ministry budget numbers.
Well, Kirlawa's GDP is approximately 18 million million KDI. So, 180 thousand million KDI, is 1% of GDP.

Head of Government -- which I OOCly interpret as a fund for ceremonial functions of government; somebody has to pay for the streamers and banners and such, after all; and because the alternate interpretation, to be a single person's salary broken out on the budget page, is ludicrous --
18 thousand million KDI. One-tenth of a percent of GDP.
Foreign Affairs -- 90 thousand million KDI. Half a percent of GDP.
Internal Affairs -- 180 thousand million KDI. One percent of GDP.
Finance -- 180 thousand million KDI. One percent of GDP.
Defence -- 450 thousand million KDI. Two and a half percent of GDP.
Justice -- 180 thousand million KDI. One percent of GDP.
Infrastructure and Transport -- 540 thousand million KDI. Three percent of GDP. (Infrastructure spending in particular creates jobs.)
Health and Social Services -- 1800 thousand million KDI. Ten percent of GDP.
Education and Culture -- 990 thousand million KDI. Five and a half percent of GDP.
Science and Technology -- 180 thousand million KDI. One percent of GDP.
Food and Agriculture -- 180 thousand million KDI. One percent of GDP.
Environment and Tourism -- 180 thousand million KDI. One percent of GDP.
Trade and Industry -- 180 thousand million KDI. One percent of GDP.

MessageWe will vote for this bill so long as we have a budget surplus. However, we see no need for such huge expenditures, seeing as many government projects and services have been privatised.

Random quote: "The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin. When all is orderly, he does not forget that disorder may come. Thus his person is not endangered, and his States and all their clans are preserved." - Confucius
