MessageThe death penalty is arcane and useless. It doesn't deter criminal elements and should mistakes be made, and they invariably are, innocent people are put to death.
Educating prisoners is extremely beneficial in rehabilitation of said offenders. The State must be seen to care for all its citizens and providing education can help move offenders away from crime and provide them with the skills and knowledge that, upon their release, would allow them to rejoin society as productive members.
