MessageMr. Speaker,

In line with my office and my authority as Minister of Justice, I propose the following legislation as a common sense alternative to our current, frankly non-existent, system of justice. In line with our commitment to regional governments and authority, this act allows local governments to establish and implement their own justice, provided it is in compliance with federal laws and subject to federal oversight.

It is my hope that all parties of this chamber can come together to pass this important resolution.

Ulia Gerber,
Minister of Justice

MessageHerr Speaker,

Our party understands the critcism expressed in article 1 and 2, but we cannot agree on articles 3 and 4.

Although the demands for fair justice are supported by us, we want our country to remain as centralised as possible, so we won't be able to agree to the righteous demands of article 1 and 2 as long as they are in connection with these federalist plans that would only decrease the efficeny of our state.

A coherent medical regulatory body is needed to guarantee certain standards for patients and a central national police department is to coordinate itself on a far superior level than a system like the one your party proposes.

MessageMr. Speaker,

While the DHB remains committed to a reform of the medical profession and reform of our medical tort system, my department is content to address that issue in a future act. As to the question of regional police, we agree that that issue is ancillary to the wider policy implications of this proposed act and may be better addressed in a separate bill as well. We therefore agree that Articles III and IV are withdrawn from this bill.
