Bill: Progressive Reform Bill - Media Freedom Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Progressive Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2180
Description[?]:
It is our belief that the free market will determine what type of media programming will be deemed acceptable and profitable. Therefore, while certain undesireable elements may be legalized now, it does not mean that it will proliferate on all radio or television stations. In fact, we believe that current media trends would prevail while government resources that were previously used to enforce standards can be directed elsewhere. |

Message | AMA will NOT support Article one. We could support either of the other proposals, but as long as this 'pill' is 'poisoned' with the current form of article one, we will never do so. |
Date | 19:53:11, February 02, 2006 CET | From | AM Radical Libertarian Party | To | Debating the Progressive Reform Bill - Media Freedom Act |
Message | We of the RLP are a bit confused - in the debate over Liberalising Sexual Media Act of October 2179, you have said that you are opposed to the same act as is in Article 2 of this bill, yet here you are saying you could support anything but article 1. |
Date | 19:54:48, February 02, 2006 CET | From | Progressive Party | To | Debating the Progressive Reform Bill - Media Freedom Act |
Message | To address AMA concerns, we will drop Article 1 and propose that in another bill. |
Date | 06:19:30, February 03, 2006 CET | From | Proletariat Revolution Party | To | Debating the Progressive Reform Bill - Media Freedom Act |
Message | We're opposed to article 2 but not the first one. |

Random fact: Players are expected to behave in a courteous, co-operative manner and make a reasonable effort to act with the consent of all players involved, even where the rules do not make consent strictly necessary. In particular, players have a responsibility to take reasonable care that other players are not misinformed either about the role-play or the Game Rules. |
Random quote: "To the youth of America, I say, beware of being trivialized by the commercial culture that tempts you daily. I hear you saying often that you're not turned on by politics. The lessons of history are clear and portentous. If you do not turn onto politics, politics will turn on you." - Ralph Nader |
