| Message | Pietro Luca Barsanti - Minister of Infrastructure and Transport "I speak for my party, we're going to launch some proposal on this issue on less radical basis. It's part of the government agenda to rebuild a national TOC for universal service and market service allowing private TOCs to operate exclusively on market service for national service (high speed lines) and on subsidized local transportation through tender procedures. My ministry then aims to rationalize the national airport system, with the closure of some of the smallest and inefficient and the reorganization with the classification of Hub, regional Hub and minor. We also think that some of the decisions on airports should be given back to the public sector (local governments under the Ministry of Infrastructure control and guidance). On Highways NSU believes that there are other ways for moving People. The State should launch a tender for possible future new highway projects but only for the construction. We have similar views of PCR on this issue, even if we dislike to build additional highways and increase soil consumption". |
