Message | Do the esteemed representatives from the CLDA not read their own laws? The state religion is not mandated. |

Message | I do Apologize if the concept is hard for the members opposite to under madame speaker, but we are putting forward this Bill because we feel that the state has no right to have an official state religion. the act of mandating a single religion as the official religion of the state puts above all others, and that is very damaging to the concept of freedom of worship that many Cildanians hold dear. the act of setting up a religion as an official state religion also is a massive intrusion into the religious sphere that the government should never be allowed to do. not making the joining and worship of this religion mandatory changes nothing, for there is still a strong cultural incentive due to it being a state religion, and this can create a strong passive coercion to make citizens join this religion even if they don't believe in its tenants and beliefs. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
