Bill: Building a Platform- PdFL Electoral Committee
Details
Submitted by[?]: Parti des Frères Lourenne
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 4111
Description[?]:
Peace to you, Brothers and Sisters Ahead of the coming election, the Electoral Committee of the Parti des Frères Lourenne will need to define some more of its positions. Given the incredibly limited number of proposals which may be made and the very slow rate at which we receive more proposals, unfortunately we are limited in what we may propose. None the less, we propose the following legislation, and when we earn some representation in the Legislature, we will work to move legislation along these lines. These proposals aim at reducing the coercive elements of state power over people's lives, reducing the force involved in policing, and encouraging the police to be full part of the communities that they police rather than something that the government may use to deny people their freedom of conscience whenever they desire to do so. Thank you for your consideration and we wish you a blessed day, Jeannette Boulonge |

Message | We can support Article 1 of this bill, but we cannot support any of the other proposals. The government must have the ability to protect the people with emergency curfews and lethal force if necessary, and the police must have the ability to patrol public property. Further, the policy of transferring illegal aliens into integration centers when discovered is for their protection and benefit - at the centers, the undocumented can access social services and begin the process of applying for legal residency. Simply ignoring illegal immigrants would leave these people in the shadows, unable to access services and become functioning members of society. If you'll create a new bill with Article 1, we will support it. |

Message | We thank the Lutte Ouvriere for their comment on this bill. And we hope that they realize that when we can put a coalition together to actually pass the points in this platform, we will do so. We are far more concerned about coercive state authority than we are about threats from our fellow citizens or foreigners. We hold that all people are equal, and so we would oppose a bill which creates specific categories of people. We would create a bill with just Article 1 in it, but as we only have a tiny amount of proposals available to us at any given time due to the law which limits Parties to a mere 10 proposals a year and the law which refills our proposals quota at the paltry rate of 5 proposals a year, and seeing as the LO is not actually proposing any changes to the law themselves which would help the PdFL define its positions, our proposal quota needs to be used far more scantily, as if it is a rare commodity. As it is now, we will be spending the next decade simply defining ourselves for the voters, so we cannot waste one single proposal in a way which does not help us create viability for the voters. Thank you for your willingness to support Article 1 in a law though, and if the LO wishes to propose it on their own, we will happily help them pass it and promote it in the Republic. |

Message | Or, if the LO would like to help us repeal Articles 1 and 2 of this bill: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=485299 We would certainly be grateful. We understand the conservative impulse inherent in those two articles, designed to prevent large scale change, but we would appeal to the LO's sense of proprietary and open up the political system here in Lourenne. Because otherwise, we spend the vast majority of our four year terms simply waiting for the proposal quota to fill once more... |
