| News Report: The Libertarians always had a tight relationship with Ardinia. The Libertarian Party actually produced the most governors to Ardinia since their existence. Governor Mark Walker actually led an effort to gain Ardinian independence but lost the referendum in Ardinia in 1933 with only 30% of the Ardinian people favouring sovereignty. After winning the election this year in Ardinia with just over 60% of the vote the Libertarian governor, Elizabeth Walker, granddaughter of Mark Walker, is renewing the call for Ardinian independence saying: We can't hide the fact that the current governing of Rutania and the current civil war have led Ardinians to think a sovereign Ardinian state may be the best option. However Bill Walker, son of Mark Walker and uncle of Elizabeth Walker, said that however they hope Ardinia gets more sovereignty they wouldn't renew calls for Ardinian independence as long the Civil War isn't over. Other party officials, like chairman Gregor Jefferson, have stated that they find the current situation and the fact that a truce is near, the best option to declare Ardinia an independent state. |
