MessageHerr Speaker,

We congratulate the DSU on trying to reform the budget, but we sadly feel this is not the correct way to go about it, we recommend decreasing the defence budget and putting what we take away form that into the foreign affairs budget instead for example. We may try and come up with our own budget to better address the situation.

MessageMrs. Staatskanzler,

I would like to remind you that the defence budget has been the subject of financial cuts in recent month and those funds were re-distrubuted throughout other ministries. I feel that further cutbacks should not affect already limited budget of the defence ministry.

in order to secure the realization of our projects necessary fund have to be provided. That is the main reason of the budget reform.

MessageMr Fasbender,

Nonetheless, the military budget is still quite large. A simple reduction from 32,000,000,000 DDO to 30,000,000,000 would help make the foreign affairs budget increase to a number near your proposed budget already. As for Health & Social Services and Education, although we are strong supporters of the welfare state and our nations education, we feel the budget is sufficient and required no changes, they are already the two highest budgets in the nation. Science and environment budgets could receive a minor boost from some minor juggling around within the budget, and we have enough room for a miniscule increase in the budget, with 4,500,000,000 DDO roughly as our current surplus.

MessageMrs. Staatskanzler,

I do not believe that the health and social secrity budget is sufficent. Is the fact that we spend the highest amount of money on the health of our citizens not allowing us to spend on it more? I do not think this is the right way of thinking. 2bn DDO which you propose cutting from the defence budget would hve to be sliced ant distibuted throughout the ministries and I assure you that a boost of 100-200mn DDO is not enough. Education is another issue that I believe we should not stint uppon. Higher budget means higher standards and more advaced technologies that can be implemented in the learning process. The fact that we have 4,5bn DDO surplus does not mean that we have to use it entirely. Even if we use the surplus we have now and cut the defence budget it still gives us only 6,5bn DDO to re-distribute. The changes I have introduced will give us 21bn DDO to re-distribute.

MessageMr Fasbdner,

You are correct in the fact that just because something has the highest budget doesn't mean it shouldn't be increased, but we think at this stage the budget for health and education is perfectly fine. The main fact of the matter is that we cannot afford such increased in spending, and the only way we can do is an extortionate taxation system. Is there need for some reforms in spending and taxation? Whilst the current system is the best it's been in years, especially if you compare it to how the nationalist parties used to allocate spending and taxation many decades ago, however some change could be done. But is this the right way to go about it? No, my party believe it isn't.

MessageMrs. Staatskanzler,

So in your point of view 45% tax rate is not extortionate? I do not agree with you. Extortionate is not the proper word. I would agree with you when the tas rate would be... 60% as it was in the past. During coallition government you participated in.

MessageMr Fasbender,

45% is still high, but not as bad as a full half of a persons wages taken. As for your reference to 60% taxation, you seem to forget it was my party that lowered that tax! And this coalition you're referring to, are you talking about governments froma round 20 or more years ago, which our party has since juggled leadership and members numerous times?

MessageMr. Speaker,

But if not the DSU's members the issue of income tax would not be even discussed! History is history, but these are facts you can't disagree with.
