Message | The Patriotic Party is concerned about the levels of secularisation being proposed and the implications for the citizens of Baltusia. The last census illustrated that the 48 per cent of people in this country are religious. That is more than 47.5 million people. Baltusia, therefore, is not a secular country, no more than it would be a "white-only" country simply because the number of people from one race outnumbers another slightly. To forbid morning prayers in state schools and then follow it up with major regulations on religious schools seems, at the very least, making it more difficult to evangelise and, at worst, persecution. For parties who supposedly stand for free will and civil liberties this clamp down on faith seems hypocritical. I've heard all the arguments about the corruptive effect of religion. Well, let me tell you this - I do not wear a Hosian religious symbol because I am 'brainwashed', I wear it because as a former serving soldier of this country it gave me something to turn to for strength and courage when the enemy was firing a hail of bullets at me. To those who say it can breed extremism and violence I propose this counter argument - the terror group RABA was a totally secular outfit and the party they evolved from, the Syndicalists, once proposed similar legislation to demonise religion. Our party stood against it then and we will stand against it now. We therefore ask Congress to look again at the proposals and vote for these more moderate versions of the laws. Thank you. Message | I do find it interesting, but not surprising, that my party seems to be a swing vote on determining whether things get passed or no. |

Message | DR Party - My thoughts are that this bill is a compromise between our two stances that still gives schools the chance to lead prayers if they so wish. What it would repeal is the idea of expressly forbidding teacher-led prayers - I think there should be choice when it comes to faith, that is the way an open and tolerant society should view it. |
