This bill will firstly create a national TV and Radio service to create educational content, provide impartial news where all points of view must be heard and produce programming of artistic and cultural value that may not find a home in the private sector. (OOC:Similar to the real life BBC). It will have a remit to educate, inform and entertain. Secondly we will create limited copyright protections for artists so that while works of art will eventually reach the public domain there will be a sufficient period for artists to make a profit during their lifetime. Message | You pride yourself on fighting for free and fair elections, overthrowing a fascist government, yet you are really enforcing an authoritarian regime. If the government itself funds these programs, information can be altered and used to the advantage of the ruling government. We are voting against this, as independent non-profit organizations have incentive to provide truthful and accurate information, with government subsidies. |
