Bill: DNA Bill of 4132
Details
Submitted by[?]: Rildanor Premier
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 4133
Description[?]:
For the safety of the citizens of Rildanor. By leaving so many unlogged we leave many criminals unidentifiable. Imagine finding blood at a scene and immediately identifying it to a suspect, rather than having to find the suspect through other means first! We understand that there are concerns for privacy, but it will be used only for this purpose and will need a warrant in order to check the database. |

Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's position towards the use of forensic DNA databases.

Message | Monsieur le President, I am disturbed by the "tough on crime" antics Rildanor Premier is trying to exude. Surely, this is nothing more than a cynical attempt at expanding their voting base. I yield. Aurelien Chatal Prime Minister |

Message | When our party started, we invigorated the public by pushing the measures they wanted to see while liberals ruined the economy and the rest of the nation grew soft on crime, terrorism etc, and focused less and less on Rildanorien interests. With new leadership and the success of our Anti-Communism Treaty, which we had grew far too focused on in previous leadership, we bring a return to the ideals of the forgotten people of our society that believe in security, freedom from foreign control, practicality and a strong Rildanor. Besides, we hardly think this is "tough on crime". It is not invasive. There is no issue. We simply wish to build an efficient police force. What is the issue with this? Message | Monsieur le President, The issue with this bill is that regardless of whether you committed any crime of some sort, your DNA, which is as personal as personal can get, is recorded and available to the government. The law currently on the books is fine. It allows the police to better identify and apprehend repeat offenders; however, to record all citizens' DNA is a major breach of privacy and gives the government an extraordinary (and unnecessary) amount of power. I yield. Aurelien Chatal Prime Minister Deputy for Tiralouse (Nouveau Centre) |

Message | What would one gain from DNA? Aside from efficiency and security for our police force? What, are we going to clone our people? Are we going to, say, form a military from their DNA? You're being ridiculous. The only purpose of this is to ensure efficiency and security for our people and our police force. Hugues Jullien Leader of Rildanor Premier Member of the NA |
