Status[?]: defeated

Voting deadline: July 2183

Description[?]:

The Federated Parliament of Rutania

Committed to the civil rights of all Rutanians, and particularly eager to ensure that these Rights are not abused by the Federal Government;

Appreciating the liberal social policies of the current Federated Government, and endorsing the continuation of these policies;

Lamenting, however...
-The continued operation of the Rutanian Intelligence Agency without mandate or oversight, and its usurpation of wartime powers during peacetime;
-The continued existence of the the draft;
-The aggessive nuclear doctrine endorsed by the military of defence, which promotes inhumane forms of nuclear warfare and potential abuses of prisoners taken captive by the Rutanian military;
-Some unreasonable restrictions on the Right to Strike established by earlier acts of the Federal Parliament;
-Restrictions on internet privacy;

Resolves to;
-Bind the Rutanian Intelligence Agency to oversight committees and give it a clear and limitedmandate.
-Abolish the draft completely, and rely instead on professional and well-trained Armed Forces for the defence of Rutania .
-Resolve to never use nuclear weapons in warfare unless another nation uses them first and furthermore resolves that nuclear weapons shall no longer be exported without restrictions.
-Resolve that any Rutanian prisoners of war must be treated well, according to internationally-accepted standards.
-Protect the Right on Strike, by removing the ability of employers to fire workers who go on strike.
-Make the Internet Free again by revoking authoritarian anti-freedom legislation in this area;
-Resolve that children in public schools shall no longer be forced to take part in teacher-led prayers, except in religious schools.

MessageThis bill is disgusting, not only can workers strike freely for any reason they have, not only can they strike in sympathy for other workers but employers cannot fire strikers for any reason? No matter what? That is sheer madness and disgusting! If i go on strike because I find the carpet colour not to my taste I cant be fired? that is stupid.

This bill is absolutely ridiculous for including that stupid article, absolute lunacy.

To PoW's, what internationally accepted standards? Rutanian law is fine and great, no need to treat them according to Deltarian standards *shudders*

We support an unregulated internet and the removal of the draft as it is peace time

MessageAre you insane? This is not about not firing strikers because of grounded cause, but about firing strikers for being on strike.

We favour all of these articles, except articles 3 and 7. We feel these two articles would threaten the civil rights of our citizens.

MessageAre we insane? You bunch of idiots, it is completely about firing strikers because of grounded cause, this bill seeks to not allow anyone who is on strike from being fired! Thus, as people can go on strike for any reason, i can go on strike for a carpet colour i dont like and NOT BE FIRED. Please read the article beforehand, Idiot!

No Rutanian standards? Rutanian LAW IS RUTANIAN STANDARDS, there are no international standards. The RSDP proves that their makeup has little intelligence

MessageWe feel that Civil Rights are a package deal. However, in the interest of advancing our agenda, we will consider spliting things off if this bill fails.

MessageHow convenient, but you completely failed to make your case that not allowing employers to fire anyone makes sense or is a civil right. We find this disgusting.

MessageWe believe in the right to strike. If employers are allowed to fire people merely on account of striking then that Right does indeed ring quite hollow.

MessageThat doesnt answer the argument that if employees can strike for any reason, which they can, then they can get a job, and go on strike forever without losing their job. Absolutely fucking ridiculous.

MessageAs people do not get paid when they are on strike that would be quite pointless, don't you think?

Random quote: “The people's war isn't just a war of destruction, it is also a war of construction. We will build new facilities, new hospitals, new farms. We will seek to improve the lives of the people around us. This struggle will be as costly as the struggle against the bourgeois army, and indeed will be even more damaging to the enemy.” - Comrade X, former Hulstrian politician
