MessageWe cannot support this proposal as it is unrepresentative.

Without Albert this administration won less than a quarter of the vote in Rapula and barely a third of the vote in Golavia.

The Sensible Activists and the Marxist-Leninist-Trotskyite Party each achieved 11% of the national vote. That is equal to one each of the 10 seats in Cabinet.

The CNT/AFL and Albert achieved 8% of the national vote. That is either equal to one seat each in the Cabinet, or, if 10% is considered a threshold, then no seats. However, as it is the self-proclaimed intention of the fascists to destroy democracy, then there is considerable leeway for the allocation of seats to democratic parties and thus attempt to re-engage voters who have been turning to totalitarianism.

The Amystian Council achieved less than 25% of the national vote yet awards itself 50% of the seats in Cabinet.

We, here in this Parliament, stood for election under a party banner because this served as notification of our political agendas. But we were elected not to represent those parties, we were elected to fulfil the wishes of the people.

Among the parties, there are no winners and losers at election time - there is nothing to win or lose, there is a selection process by the people.

The only potential losers are the people themselves, between elections. The representatives they select must be allowed to represent them.

MessageGiven the stance of the Albert Party, which ensures this cabinet will be defeated, the CCF intends to vote against this proposal to include them in cabinet. We suggest that the Council and the MLP also change their vote to no in order to avoid a defeat.

We would prefer to work with the CNT/AFL in cabinet, but if they continue in their principled opposition to a cabient led by the Amystian Council, we will happily work with the Marxist-Leninists or the Sensible Activists.

MessageIn many circumstances the CCF's resolute occupation of the moral low-ground would make an intriguing study, much akin to watching a man beat himself unconscious with a metal tray because "it was there". However, in this instance, the CCF's manic lust for power beyond its mandate is simply a sad example of a previously limited education system.

Luckily, we in Albert, are willing to clarify the situation for those members too bemused by the madcap antics of Lodamun's orange order to follow where their logic is going astray:

The CCF wishes to form a coalition. More accurately, the CCF wishes to be in a coalition, and hopes to gain Cabinet places for its own party by doing so. However, there are some pre-conditions. Firstly, those in the coalition must also be seeking power beyond the mandate given to them by the people of Lodamun. Secondly, some parties must be excluded from the coalition, and thus excluded from the Cabinet (After all, why join an elite club if any old riff-raff can get in?).

Of course, the Parliament of Lodamun is not an elite gentlemen's club. It is the house where the elected representatives of the people of Lodamun meet in order to pursue the better health and welfare of the people of Lodamun and, where appropriate, the rest of the world. We, the elected members within this house, were not elected in order to wrangle deals which give our individual parties greater authority than the people decided we should have.

Is the electoral process merely a vehicle on which the CCF wishes to sail to some undefined and incomprehensible higher glory? Does the CCF exist to serve the people or to rule the people? Sadly, we fear the hatter will not even hear the questions above the clinking of teacups in his desperation to trough more cake than is fair and to turn the future orange.

Message(ouch, what fabulous rhetoric!)

The CCF has no interest in squabbling in this matter, and is frankly unable to understrand the anger of the speak from the Albert Party. To state party policy once again: we will work with any party except the Fascists. Since the Albert Party's oppositon to this cabinet proposal means it will be defeated, there seems no point in casting a futile vote in favour of it.

Message(Well taken, thank you.)

We are delighted with the CCF's clarifying of their position and their support for a more inclusive, multi-faceted Cabinet which properly reflects the diversity of representation the people have chosen.

Our apparent misunderstanding of their agenda was regrettable and we would humbly withdraw our earlier comments were it not for the fact that though our words were ill-crafted, they helped shed light on a new dawn of unity among all parties intent to fulfil the proper respresentation of the people's will.

We shall certainly vote in favour of CCF's suggestion of a Cabinet comprising proportional representation of all parties committed to the principles of active democracy.
