MessageMr. Speaker,

I rise again to simply say that the men and women I have nominated are outstanding individuals in the field of foreign policy and international affairs. Some are career diplomats in the Ministry, others are academics at universities and think tanks. We are behind on our appointments, and I ask for swift passage of this bill so that we may properly present ourselves around Terra and represent the interests of Luthorians abroad.

I yield.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I rise to express my deep seated concerns about these appointments. I have, and millions of every day working people, have absolutely zero confidence in the ability of Prime Minister Buckley or any of the leadership of the HDU to make ambassador appointments or appointments of any kind. Prime Minister Buckley, the leadership of the HDU, are all mired in their close ties to large multi-national corporations in the finance industry. Prime Minister Buckley and his current administration are almost exclusively the former leadership of these large multi national finance corporations. I have deep seated concerns that his appointments of ambassadors are influenced by close to the finance industry and the ever growing and expanding Watkins Brown Group. I think that it is incumbent upon all of us to insist upon the proper vetting of these individuals to ensure that there are no apparent conflicts of interest with the appointments.

I yield.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Mr. Turner is relying solely on hypotheticals at this point. He not only wrongly accused me of corruption, a remark I find deeply disrespectful and undignified for someone who strives to be Imperial Prime Minister himself, but now he suggests that these men and women are somehow in the hands of corporations. That is absolutely false! Take, for example, Alyson Evans, whom I nominated as the Ambassador to Malivia. She is a mother of three who lives in the suburbs of Fort William and who teaches regional studies, specifically Artania, at the prestigious University of Fort William. Or, if you'd like, Daniel Lands, my nominee for Ambassador to Saridan. With more than two decades of experience studying Selayan affairs at the esteemed Imperial Institute of International Affairs (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=68&start=410#p94345), who may help to diffuse tensions between Saridan and other countries. These are qualified individuals, and Mr. Turner is simply turning tall tales and conspiracies with his kind of language.

As for the National Conservatives, I just think they're sore that they're out of government. There really is no reason to oppose these appointments.

I yield.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The Prime Minister spoke about two, I repeat two, of the 17 people he is nominating for these positions. If the Prime Minister is saying that there are absolutely no conflicts of interest here and that none of these nominees will serve the interested of the finance industry that absolutely and unquestionably controls his party and this entire administration, what objection does he have to vetting each of these appointments one by one?

Let's vet them. He so graciously began the vetting process for two of the appointments. Let's vet the other 15 now, shall we?

I yield.

MessageMr Speaker,

The leadership of my party, and myself, reviewed the appointees of Prime Minister Buckley, and their qualifications, and found them to be satisfactory, and in many cases, exemplary. We applaud the prime minister for his selections, wish them the best of luck in their impending endeavors, and will happily support their confirmation.

I yield.

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.
