An act to reform the financing and expenditures of electoral campaigns. Article 1 - Public Subsidy of Campaigns 1.1) There shall be a per-vote subsidy available to political parties, valued at 1.00 SEN/vote, distributed to parties based on the results of the previous national Legislature Election. Article 2 - Campaign Expenditure Limits 2.1) Party expenditures during a campaign period shall be limited to a rate 27 500.00 SED per seat in the Ekklesia. 2.2) Total party expenditure permitted during a campaign period shall be limited to the total number of seats in the Ekklesia multiplied by the per seat rate seat in (2.1). 2.2.1) At the time of this bill's introduction, total campaign expenditures must be limited to under 20 625 000 SED. |

Message | We agree on the first part of the proposal that "All candidates receive public funds". But if campaigns should receive public funds, doesn't allowing donations defeat the purpose of having public funding for campaign? |
