Details
Submitted by[?]: United Luthori
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 4145
Description[?]:
Mr. Speaker, First off, allow me to congratulate the Rt Hon. Imperial Prime Minister on her new government. I look forward to working with her and the other parties in government. As for this bill, as Luthori embarks on a massive overhaul of our military, it is imperative to set certain policies straight. The armed forces is a no-nonsense organization that requires all civilians to serve a term. The current exemption of conscientious observers from serving in combatant roles allows a loophole to avoid service. Furthermore, the military is not a place of identity or sexuality. To be sure, homosexuals should still be allowed to serve, but not openly. I yield. The Rt Hon. Alan Stannard MD (HDU) Minister of Defense |
Proposals
Article 1

Proposal[?] to change Military stance on homosexuality.

Message | Mr. Speaker, Article I of this bill repeals a compromise previously achieved by this body to allow those with sincere objections to taking up arms to still perform duty, if required, but maintain clear consciences. While the HDU's memory is evidently short, let this body's memory be not. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, While you are correct that the armed forces aren't a place for identity, it would be better to ban sexual relations between soldiers instead of ban open declaration of one's sexual preference. Specifically that of the homosexual verity, if you propose the ban on discussing sex and sexuality all together I might have considered such. But as it stands, it is purely discriminatory and lacks any real back up by itself. But, while I can see that the HDU is making strides and leaps, this is an example of ignorance and virtue singling to the far-right of Luthori. I yield, Emma Genn Imperial Prime Minister |
