Introduced in May 4147 on initiative of Her Majesty's government, through the Miljøvernministeriet (Environment Ministry). This will put regulations in place forbidding the inhumane practice of commercial whaling, putting limits on scientific whaling, and ensuring the preservation of our region's natural species'. ARTICLE I: LEGAL STATUS OF WHALING Whaling, the hunting for whales, shall be illegal, with the exception of extremely limited whaling for scientific research purposes. ARTICLE II: JURISDICTION Commercial Whaling shall not be permitted by any vessel within Kazulian territorial waters. Ships registered in Kazulia, owned by a Kazulian company and registered elsewhere, flying the Kazulian flag, or using Kazulia as a base of operations shall also be forbidden from participating in commercial whaling activities, whether inside of, or outside of, Kazulian territorial waters. ARTICLE III: WHALING FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH Scientific whaling is permitted within Kazulian territorial waters and outside for ships registered in Kazulia with severe limits. No endangered species may be taken aboard a Kazulian research ship. Ten licenses may be made available for research related whaling, with a term of a year each. A license is granted after a panel investigation by different governmental offices related both to the environment and research areas at hand. No whaling research ship under license may take in more than 10 specimens per year. Sale of whale meat, blubber, bones, organs, or byproducts for profit are forbidden |
