Message"There are laws against the publication of false information; everything else may be published freely." The current law of the land already has a provision against false information; if the CU is distributing false information, they must be prosecuted on a case-by-case basis, and not through generalized prohibition. If this is simply politically motivated suppression, the Democratic Centrists stands with our ideological opponents the Communist Union in the defense of free speech.

MessageThe CU is a radical communist movement promogulating a state religon based upon a cult, and has called for "restricting everything." We would be shuttng down propaganda outlets, not "normal" outlets.

MessageOnce again, existing law allows the government to prosecute purveyors of false information. If that is the claim against the CU, prosecute them under the existing law. If it is not, this proposal is obviously just another power grab.

MessageThe DC are as ideologically opposed to the CU as you are, my dear friend. But the position of the DC is and will always be to err on the side of freedom. We believe existing legislation already gives sufficient power to the executive to handle this matter.

MessageWhich is what we would be doing. CU propaganda obviously contains false information, considering its various stances and remarks.

MessageWe would then respectfully offer that this is an unnecessary proposal. You are asking for permission to do something you already have the authority to do. By putting this to a vote, you are undermining your own power. As a more liberal party, we would normally take some pleasure in this, but we respect the power of the executive as it already exists. To that end, we have extended a compromise in voting for the proposal to subpeona Orna Zyrkachev, as this specific instance of propaganda is clearly against the law. We will work in the Senate to remove the SUAC as an institution, but while it does have power it must be respected. We hope that this gesture indicates the DC's efforts to work across ideological divides to respect the electoral mandate the SNPP and SUN currently enjoy. This will be but the first of these efforts now and into the future.

MessageThe SUAC will not be dissolved unless the senate votes to do so. Until then, it will remain in place with powers added gradually over time. You are free to call for its disbandment anytime, and if the proposal passes, we will gladly dissolve it.

We will admit that this proposal could be better worded in the interests of clarity. Next time, we will be sure to adress this.

We applaud the DC for their pragmatism and centrism, as it is something sorely lacking in Solentia.

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself.

Random quote: "We have to face the fact that either all of us are going to die together or we are going to learn to live together, and if we are to live together we have to talk." - Eleanor Roosevelt
