Bill: Sensible Compulsory Education Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: SLP-Libertarian Alliance
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 4152
Description[?]:
Mr. Speaker What the assembly has recently done is, with all do respect, ridiculous. The Alliance does understand the intent of a highly educated populace, but 21 years of compulsory education is nearly ludicrous. All we are doing is spreading our resources too thin. Even with our massive education budget, suddenly throwing 3 more years onto school districts that were meant to handle only 18 years will have disastrous consequences. Not to mention that we feel 18 is enough time for a student to have a decent education and is also enough time for a student to decide if they want to move into a college level career or go into an industrial job. For those that just want to work in the factories, 18 years is enough to insure that they have the skills required for their jobs. All adding 3 years does is waste the time of citizens that either don't want or care for it and the teachers that are now required to teach them. It should be up to the students to decide if they want to move into upper education, not some bureaucrats in Fort Thorne. Alan Calderon, Alliance Shadow Education Minister |

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining. |
