| Kristin Lund urges the convocation to consider the following proposal. The existing policy is another example of Likatonia giving control to foriegn interests. WE are the ones that should dictate what tariffs we impose. Allowing goods from countries in could unintentionally wipe out some of our industries, worse still, this current policy allows ANY foriegn nation to 'target' a particular industry they may want to see destroyed in Likatonia. Larger, more affluent countries may choose to subsidise thier own production, in order to see our industries undercut by cheap imports. An invasion by stealth that captures our national jobs and removes them for harvest by faceless corporations in other countries is something we do not need. Let us reassert national control over our economy! |

Old value:: The nation imposes reciprocal tariffs on imports, with no tariffs imposed on states which impose no tariffs on our exports.
Current: The nation allows for imports, but imposes "ethical" tariffs on nations with lower environmental and labour rights standards.
Proposed: The nation allows for imports, but imposes tariffs and quotas in certain areas.
