The family is an important element in any society. For this reason, this act is put before the government. It is fundamental to any society that we allow for families to make the choice they feel best suit them; whether it is to abort the unborn child as permitted by the law, place it up for adoption or keep it. Should choose they keep the child, the government will provide a monetary benefit based on the income and other variable factors. The government will also provide the same benefit for each subsequent child. This act doesn't seek to eliminate other viable options, but rather provide an option that will appeal to all the people of Likatonia. |

Message | Why should we give child benefit, or indeed any benefit to affluent families ? This is just making the rich richer, and could even be the incentive for a 'cottage industry' of childbearing for financial reward. |

Message | IF you had read the description, the amount would be dependant on the result that is in the notice of assesment - aka, income and other variable factors. It would help those who need it. The government collects taxes and in order to qualify, you need to fill out your tax return and hence, it would be based on such. |

Message | AMA opposes. We believe child benefit should protect those most in need... and we believe the current law allows that. Opening the brackets on this, invites abuses. |

Message | To the Axis Mundi SLP: IF you had read the proposed legislation states that "The State guarantees child benefit to all families". No ifs, buts or provisos. There is no rule to say some qualify and others don't. In fact if we are to get really literal, the act would even give the child benefit to childless couples. Rediculous. |

Message | Yes, which is why we added in a protection clause in the description. Like with the "reasonable" grounds to fire an employee... there are 'variable factors' involved. |

Message | We'll support, the more children the better. |

Message | Thank you. CP. To the sceptics; the law just says to all families with children, but it doesn't say how much they get or what they get it based on. Do consider; it's not so concrete that it means all families get the same amount of money. |

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset. |
