Message | OOC: In the past I have found that it makes the country more attractive and welcoming to new players who often do not have any sort of understanding of languages other than English. Given that we only have (3-)4 (active) parties it might help liven the place up. It'd also make things more uniform - the anthem and national animal will be in Portuguese and English so why not the rest? However, if you have a strong feeling against it then I wont push it. |

Message | OOC: Well, the national anthem & animal is in two languages because we recently made them so. And while I see the merit of providing a translation for the national anthem in the game language, I simply didn't care about the national animal enough to object to that bracket insertion of the English name. I'm a little more sceptical when it comes to the names of the institutions. It doesn't really take a lot of thinking that "Presidente da República Democrática" means "President of the Democratic Republic" and so on. Including bracket translations would only repeat the obvious. However, if all three other parties agree that we need those translations, I won't object too much, but I'd suggest to do that in one bill that includes all the names that are deemed to need such a translation, rather than doing it in such a piecemeal fashion. |
