Bill: Patient's Rights
Details
Submitted by[?]: Libertad y Justicia
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2182
Description[?]:
A patient should have the right, if injured, to bring that doctor to court. Currently, only a medical regulatory body may do so. This ensures a monopoly favored to medicine above the patient. If a patient is allowed to bring suit against his/her doctor, a medical body may still advise the court, but in no way will they determine the patient's rights. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Malpractice suits.
Old value:: Only a medical regulatory body can prosecute a doctor for malpractice.
Current: Malpractice suits may be brought against doctors.
Proposed: Malpractice suits may be brought against doctors.

Message | This may lead to doctors spending more time in the court than in the operating theatre. |

Message | I don't think so. Because the law already has a cap on how much one may sue, I think that law-suit abuse will be kept at bay. |
