Bill: Patient's Rights

Details

Submitted by[?]: Libertad y Justicia

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2182

Description[?]:

A patient should have the right, if injured, to bring that doctor to court. Currently, only a medical regulatory body may do so. This ensures a monopoly favored to medicine above the patient. If a patient is allowed to bring suit against his/her doctor, a medical body may still advise the court, but in no way will they determine the patient's rights.

MessageThis may lead to doctors spending more time in the court than in the operating theatre.

MessageI don't think so. Because the law already has a cap on how much one may sue, I think that law-suit abuse will be kept at bay.
