MessageFirstly, I would like to congratulate our president Mekana Akiki on once again winning the presidential elections. I congratulate the NEPP on winning the parliament elections and I also congratulate the PSP for winning seats aswell.

Now. That being said, it is no secret the election results of the CLIP came to us as a shock and can be considered rather embarrassing, as we were counting on a victory. Therfore, our former party leader Mika Crelardos drew his conclusions and felt he had no choice but to resign.

Since a coalition between the CLIP and the PSP or NEPP is not possible and we (currently) do not wish to take part in a cabinet that includes the PNT we decided to support this cabinet proposal, as we consider it the best possible coalition.

This is where our paths seperate, Mekana. Let us depart as friends. Our coalition hasn't been perfect. We have both said and done things we regret. We didn't have proper communication regarding government policy, but let us remember our coalition for what it was. A historic coalition. For the first time in 19 years the NEPP did not have complete control of parliament and together we fought for equal rights. After decades our coalition finally gave women the freedom to decide about their own body. We kicked the NEPP government out of women's stomachs. We made a once strict Hosnian confederacy a little more secular. Now in the opposition we will fight you on our disagreements such as ecology. But you can always count on us when liberal policy needs to be passed.

Kind regards,

Cristina Matei
Newly elected party leader of the CLIP
