Bill: Child Protection Act of July 2182
Details
Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2183
Description[?]:
Children are humans in their own right. They trust the adults to make decisions regarding their future. They do not know better and often learn through observing the actions of others. Likatonia is a progressive nation and violance is something we need to put into our history books. For this reason, we ought to ban direct corperal punishment against children. They are young and they do not 'get' the right message from a physical punishment often and see it as a trusted authority hurting them. Parents know their own child well; the teacher only has a role for a short period in a child's life, regardless of what area of the nation the child receives their education. The parent's ability to discipline their child will not be affected by this bill; the teacher will be required to refrain from physical punishment. |

Message | While we would support this as policy for our public school systems, we cannot in conscience deprive those parents who feel that to spare the rod spoils the child the right to select schools with an appropiate level of discipline consistant with their beliefs. |

Message | This DOESN'T stop parents from using such forms of discipline. It just states that it is parents who know their child best. That way they get more discipline control. |

Message | No, but it does stop parents from sending their child to a school which uses this form of discipline. |
