| Message | Sara Zanardi, whip of PSLI: "we have unfortunaly vote against this bill. We believe that environmental policies shall be national policies. Our Nation for very long time enforced highly environmental friendly policies and we think it is not good to give the choice to each region, we want avoid the case that in one or more regions local governments could dismantle the environmental laws. And we do not understand why devolve to local authorities the fire prevention and management: all the citizens of the nation shall have assured the same best services and we don't want risk to have region with highly funded fire department and other with less funded, and only God knows what may tend to become thrifty politicians and local governments in the management of finances, coming to cut also in the most important and essential services. And we are against the devolution of the National Museum Network which is one of the prides of our nation that must be protected and supported throughout the country for the good turristica industry and for the preservation of historical and artistic heritage of the nation, and secondly we ask ourselves: why devolve the management to local authorities then if the state will continue to finance them? We can support the follow articles: - Nuclear: The decision is left up to local governments. - Housing policy is to be determined by local governments. Believing that each region have the right to decide if they want allow or not the presence of Nuclear Power Plant in their territories and it is a good way to exit from the current legislation, and as our allies can confirme, one of the proposed program for the past legislation was to put an end to the encouragement of Nuclear Power to give attention to the renouvable resource. About the housing, the local authorities, more close to the citizens, we are sure could be able to manage this matter at best in accordance with the particular social conditions of a region compared to another. Thank you" |
