Bill: Let The Military Be Controled By The State, Not By Hard Cash

Details

Submitted by[?]: Meritocratic Progressive Union

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2183

Description[?]:

It is clear that the military will only engage when it is needed but is it still acceptable that entities that aim to make profit are given a powerfull tool as an armed and trained military? The military needs to be objective. And no company can ever be objective, as it aims to do what is most profitable.
And in the "business" of war that is seldon in the best interest of the country.

Messagethe introduction of independant defense contractors exist to encourage a greater range of ideas and approaches to our defense. Once all DIs are controlled by the government we are creating a closed system where new ideas cannot flourish and we would soon be hopelessly outclassed in our technologies and arms.

MessageIf those engineers, military experts and scientists are employed by our military then we would at least be sure on what their motives are and what they are doing.
I doubt very much that our military will be less creative than some companies who's only goal it is to have war, since that is their reason of existance.

MessageThis bill still allows sub-contracting. It will still be possible for companies to produce products not necessarily military products in their own right. This way creativity and competition is not endangered.
