Bill: P.d.l. 01/4179 - Reorganization and Rationalization of Indirect Taxes

Details

Submitted by[?]: Alleanza Radicale - NCD

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 4180

Description[?]:

Lorenzo Verhoeven, Leader of PSLI:

"my party would like propose a measures to rationalize the sector of the Indirect Taxes (or Sales Taxes) which we think currently are excessively unbalanced, they may discourage the purchase of certain goods and, above all, as we always say, do not reflect the real istalian situation.

Speaking of luxury goods, a current tax cut could certainly stimulate purchases in the sector and thus the production, while talking about the ordinary goods, we firmly believe in the fact that Istalia, a developed and advanced country, with widespread prosperity, It has no need for a full exemption for similar goods and services, especially in light of the fact of our welfare system guarantees a certain purchasing power to the citizens who, belonging to all the income ranks, will definitely not mind paying a small percentage more:
Taking the example of the proposed percentage we are talking of adding, for example, for a purchase of 100 Lire they should add only 2 lire more, for a purchaise of 2 Lire purchase a measly 0,04 Lire, at a purchase of 1000 Lire just 20 lire more, etc...).

The parties of the Union of Liberals have always denounced the excessive weight of such taxes on the wealthier part of the population, so I hope that this proposal can be discussed civilly and I hope will be accepted.

N.B. To avoid confusion already expressed:
What are luxury goods? Luxury goods are all those goods and services which, regardless the level of sales taxes applied on, are still out of the possibility of most part of the population.
Therefore: cars, televisions, homes, for example, are not luxuries goods, while they are sports supercars, majestic homemovie systems and high-end houses).

Thank you

"well, well, well... Patto per l'Istalia which changed its vote and the PLI, which before assured its support, when launched it voted against. Only Democrazia Istaliana respected the promises, but as usual DI demostrates again how it is the most noble and coherent member of the U.o.L.!
This is a shame! Day after day is more and more clear how the U.o.L. is slave of the decision of a well know minority!

Do you want procede in this way? Ok, we will procede in the same way!"

"ah... really the PPI are saying to us to think to the poor? The same PPI that for all its history has acted to eliminate rights and services for the poor? That for so long time are acted only to make favor to its wealthy friends and lobby? What we had to say when you introduced income tax also for those under the 1000 Lire? What we had to say when you eliminate all the health service for the poor?
And you come here to say to the PSLI that a 2% is "very heavy"? A percentage ridicolous and pratically invisible is "heavy"? Ah... as usual you have no answer and concrete words to say!
2% is heavy.... oh god save us! "Heavy"! This statement it is only funny! And you should be ashamed to consider 2% as an really heavy taxation!"
