Bill: D.08.4182 - Patriotic Duty Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: United Luthori

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 4183

Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker,

Military service instills discipline, work ethic, and traditional Luthorian values in all our young people. Nobody should be exempt, and those who wish to evade serving this country should be punished. Furthermore, imagine how strong our nation would be if everyone knew how to use a gun and could provide some sort of specialized skill, be it combat-related or not, in the event of a war. This is just some great stuff.

I yield.

MessageMr. Speaker,

How exactly can we claim to be a democracy if we require our citizens to serve in our military, despite the numerous mental and physical deficiencies that have been proven to affect combat veterans and refusing to respect our citizens' moral and individual right to refuse to serve in our military? This is not a Luthori I wish to live in. United Luthori are not centrists at this point, they are mere reactionaries. It has been proven.

I yield.
