The government should not be representing criminals in court. They should hire their own lawyers to defend themselves. We should be spending money on more important things such as healthcare and education rather than spending on helping criminals. |

Message | If a defendant does not have the financial means to afford legal representation then their right to a fair trial could be undermined. In order to ensure that this key principle is upheld we support the current law. We would also remind Congress that defendants undergoing a criminal trial are not 'criminals' as has been stated by some members. They are innocent until proven guilty. |
