Message | OOC: Yes, Prefeitura can be the translation for city hall, and in Brazil it as used as such. Originally, though, it was the name of a regional entity, and at least in France it still used that way. Here in Tukarali, the regions were originally called Prefectures, and at some point they were simply translated into Portuguese. 'Prefeitura' is still a perfectly acceptable name for a region, just because the Brazilians transferred the name to a building doesn't mean that it can ONLY mean a building. |
