Message | Mr Speaker, I would like to inform this body that the NHCA will be put on hold indefinitely. It is impossible to get the required number of votes to pass this bill with GNP opposition. That said, the Republican Party remains committed to enacting healthcare reform in the near future. We urge our colleagues to remain optimistic and to keep fighting for a better, healthier future for the entire Dranish Peninsula. Park Ji-won Chairwoman of the GHD Congresswoman from Hyonggi |

Message | Mr Speaker, The Republican Party knows full well that this would lead to the creation of "efficiency" panels to select who gets healthcare and who does not and those whose conditions are too expensive would find themselves dead and conned after decades of paying taxes. And why should we encourage sexual immorality among the underclasses by subsiding it? Ri Jong-su PAP Chairman |
Date | 20:13:07, April 03, 2017 CET | From | Grand National Party | To | Debating the National Health Care Act (NHCA) |
Message | Mr Speaker, we wish to echo the conderns expressed by chairman Ri with regards to single-payer: a public health system would consume an enormous amount of taxes, putting a huge financial burden on the average citizen. Now even if we concede that he does get a reasonably good quality of care in exchange, there remains a major risk factor for those with critical conditions - whereas in a private system they might still be able to set aside some funds to pay for immediate treatment in a clinic of their choice and conducted by their trusted physician, this would in a lot of cases no longer be possible under the proposed plan due to the expected burden of taxation put on an individuals' monthly income. Combined with the inevitable problem of perpetually long waiting lists that can be observed in many single-payer countries - a direct result of free-for-all accessibility -, this might lead to dire consequences.
