Message | Unfortunately, we disagree on three of the five policies proposed. We find it unacceptable that all advertising is permitted, with no regulatory oversight. In particular, this would have unforeseen consequences for the tourism sector, the brief for which is handled by Avita Velia of the KLA. We also find fault with the idea that monopolies are only forbidden in certain sectors of the economy. We would be interested to know which areas of the economy are permitted to have monopolies. We also find that the idea of foreign investors investing freely is good, and we would endorse this policy. However, we do not believe they should be able to achieve majority shares in companies, especially as for some, such as internet service providers or energy providers, this could have serious national security repercussions. We suggest the DPP propose a bill with the changes we ask for, or face none of the other changes being passed through. |
