MessageMr. Speaker,

The ratification of this treaty, must be done on the terms of Luthori. We will not be ratifying this legislation because it is there and is up for ratification. If an agreement between Luthori and Zardugal is to be established, it must be done mutually instead of though an omnibus treaty. The gradual and functional approach to foreign affairs which is currently being exercised by my ministry is proving much results. Currently we are negotiating with over thirteen members of the Luthori Treaty of Diplomatic Relations on matters of trade and military cooperation. As such we will not be voting for the ratification of this legislation. Furthermore, i ask for other parties to allow for the diplomatic process to be done qualitatively by the foreign ministry.

Rt. Hon. Phillip Cunningham, MP.
Minister of Foreign Affairs

Mr. Speaker,

When during my brief tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs it was established that a gradual and functional approach to foreign affairs would be adopted by the ministry, more-so the government. Omnibus treaties such as this and our current Luthori Treaty of Diplomatic Relations have proved to be unbeneficial to the country. We have inspected the treaty, and it entails nothing pertaining to trade with this country. Caitlin Blackburn, our previous foreign minister, opened the channel for increased trade between the dozens of members of the Luthori Treaty of Diplomatic Relations through one-on-one trade deals, which in the past have proven to be extreme effective in increasing our nation's domestic production and consumption. I see no use for this legislation is a mirror of the Luthori Treaty of Diplomatic Relations, and as such will only seek to promote diplomatic talk, instead of promoting trade and diplomacy (which could be achieved through negotiating terms with the respective countries. I call upon the Foreign Minister to use logic instead of ideological preference. What would benefit this country more, a single minded diplomatic treaty or a trade agreement accompanied by a diplomatic treaty? Whilst the Foreign Minister mounts his response.

I yield.

Philip Cunningham, MP.
Shadow Defence Minister.

MessageDear Parties,

This diplomatic treaty will be an important first step in improving our great relationship with Luthori! It will be so much easier to change your nationality, because you don't have to go to the country itself anymore.
It will be so much easier to extradite criminals who has comitted a crime in your nation, which was that bad that you really want him back.
It will be so much easier to step forward in our relationship, because you have your own (very big and fully protected) Embassy in Zardugal and we will have ours.

Dear Luthorian friends,
We hope you agree and that the parties who has voted NO will see that this treaty will always benefit to your country.

Thank you all.

Your Sincerely,
Domiano Funes Mori
President of the Federation of Zardugal and friend of Luthori

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.
