Bill: Assassination of Herb Iwems
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Labour Party of Telamon
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2194
Description[?]:
We should spend $100,000 to build a memorial for Herb Iwems. Telamon Today Former Chancellor Herb Iwems of the Progressive Party of Telamon was assassinated today at the University of Telamon while he was speaking at a group of students. He died on the way to the hospital. It is not known who did it, but Telamon police say it was probably done by a sniper. Prime Minister Jack O'Neill will serve as the temporary President of the Progressive Party of Telamon until an election is held. In case of early elections (which is highly unlikely) the party will endorse the UCA. Message | Chancellor Stanley Baldwin (President of the UCA) and Robert Peel, UCA Parliamentary Leader, wish to offer their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr Iwems. OOC: The TBC News thread on the Paricracy forum is probably a more approriate place to post things like this - though of course there is nothing wrong with a Parliamentary discussion of such a terrible act. |

Message | Sorry, but it wasn't. The police say that it may have been by royalists from another country, since he was a vocal anti-autocratic person. OOC: Does anyone want to have the assassin be a member of their party? |

Message | Telamon Today Assassians Found Telamon police have found the assassians of Herb Iwems. They are part of the Telamon Fascist Alliance, part of the TCP which broke away a few years ago. Both the TCCP and TFA are opening their files to the police to help in the case. Also, some members of the Revolutionary Ingsoc Party, a center-left party in the Republic of Corbura, may have assisted in the assassination because of their anger over the PPT's move to a less socialistic view, which was confirmed by Herb Iwems' close partnership with the UCA. In a related devlopment, former Prime Minister Jack O'Neill said that the TNP was taking advantage of the assassination to promote their own policial belefs, like Chancellor Baldwin said, and also that the "Telamon Resort" bill was a joke by some MPs and no one would see the bill as a reason to kill the former Chancellor. |

Message | But was he assassinated in office? If so, then a memorial is logically footed by the government, but if he was out of office the amount should be paid not by the government, I reckon. |

Message | No, he wasn't. But he was assassinated because he supported anti-monarchist efforts in some countries. |
