Bill: Ensuring Labor Rights
Details
Submitted by[?]: Lutte Féministe de Libération
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2185
Description[?]:
In order to ensure the right of labor to strike peacefully without the fear of reprisal by their corporate masters, we propose this compromise that would allow employers to fire striking employees only when said employees were deemed to be striking excessively or against the public interest. While we still believe strongly that the natural relationship between employer and employee, namely the employee's dependence on the employer for wages, prevents workers from striking excessively, we are willing to accept a compromise that would protect labor and give employers the ability to fire strikers when approved by an appointed government commission. |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
